Last Year's Panel Discussions

  • Prospering in the emerging “Photos at your fingertips” era

For the first time in the history of visual media, average consumers – who have been creating images at geometrically growing rates in recent years – are gaining transparent, intelligent access to their photos any time, anywhere and on any device. A new wave of business opportunities is being unleashed, while established models will be threatened with obsolescence. How will the “Photos at your fingertips” era impact every major player in the mobile photo ecosystem?

  • Monetizing photo engagement

With photo engagement on mobile devices higher than ever before, building mindshare and generating sustainable revenues – whether through apps, cloud services or print output products – are top priorities for photo app developers. Where are the untapped opportunities?

  • Disrupting through hardware innovation

Recently innovative photo and video apps have been the main drivers of the visual communication revolution. But let’s not forget hardware – devices and components – had its day too, and it will again. Hear from the hardware innovators driving the next wave of user empowerment.

  • The do’s and don’ts of successful exits

Not every startup is cruising towards an IPO. “Just” an acquisition may actually be plan A – and often a highly lucrative one at that. Learn from those who’ve successfully sold their companies, including Aviary (acquired by Adobe), Kindred (its technology assets acquired by RPI), and Tiny Prints (acquired by Shutterfly).

  • The Envelope Please – expert feedback on the app show-and-tell demos

Hear from a judging panel of key industry movers and shakers which of the photo and video apps demoed in our 3 show-and-tell sessions stood out – and why.  Which apps have the biggest potential to succeed? Who will be named best-of-conference?
